O God, who in the power of the Holy Spirit have sent Your Word to announce good news to the poor, grant that, with eyes fixed upon Him, we may ever live in sincere charity, made heralds and witnesses of His Gospel in all the world." - Collect, Mass for the New Evangelization
The mission of the Office of Pastoral Planning is to provide assistance and support to pastors and parishes through plan implementation due to the declining number of clergy and abundance of parishes. With prayer and careful deliberation, the Pastoral Planning Committee will study the material and ministerial viability of parishes and communities to identify targeted areas of the Diocese for recommendation to receive site-specific goals and plans.

No decisions regarding parish and school comprehensive design (openings, closings, mergings, or new construction) have been made, nor will be made, until after many rounds and levels of consultation.
GETTING INSPIRED AND INVOLVED
Sean P. Henseler, a Bishop Hendricken alum and professor at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport and Director of Operations, speaks to hundreds during a Warwick open parish meeting at his alma mater about pastoral planning in the Diocese of Providence. He encouraged those in attendance to use their gifts and talents by getting involved in the planning process by collaborating with their parish. (Photo: Laura Kilgus, RI Catholic)
