Together with the teachers, faculty, board members, and students and their families, the event attracted more than 500 people, including a large number of local clergy and religious, diocesan representatives, and representatives from other Catholic schools who came in support of the newest educational addition to the Diocese of Providence. A crowd of 500 recently gathered to celebrate La Salle Academy’s nine Hall of Fame inductees, including Msgr. Albert A. Kenney, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Diocese of Providence.
Rev. Michael J. Leckie, 76, Pastor Emeritus of St. Joseph Parish, Hope Valley, died November 15, 2025.
Calling hours will be on Friday, November 28, from 4 -7pm at Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank Street, Hope Valley. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of Father Leckie’s soul will be offered on Saturday, November 29, at 9:30am at St. Joseph Church, 1105 Main Street, Hope Valley. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Please pray for Father Leckie and his family.
