Father Raymond Tetrault, a Rhode Island priest for 63 years, died on January 3, 2023. Over these decades he became known to many through his ministry to the poor, to Latinos, to prisoners and to the causes of peace and justice. He saw himself, however, as a man of prayer. Indeed, he was a Man of God and a Man of the People.
Little known, is that late in life Father Ray took up painting. In his late 80's, he completed almost a hundred works. Many of them are now being shown at the SPROUT GALLERY, 166 Valley St., Building 6M, Suite 103, Providence, RI, which is in the Olneyville section of Providence (Father’s old neighborhood). Of special interest is the wide variety of portraits that he painted.
Gallery hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. The Gallery will show Father Tetrault's work from Thu., June 29 to Fri., July 28. The best access is from the ONLY open parking lot at the North end of the Rising Sun complex.
