(Warwick, R.I.) The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, has announced the appointment of Mark. R. DeCiccio as principal of Bishop Hendricken High School, a Catholic all-male, college preparatory high school in Warwick serving over 900 students in grades 8-12.
DeCiccio assumes his new position on July 1, 2018. He is taking over for interim principal John Jackson.
“With Mr. DeCiccio’s experience and his emphasis on academic achievement and building strong relationships with students, faculty, staff and parents, he is more than qualified to lead the school forward at this time,” said Superintendent of Catholic Schools Daniel J. Ferris. “I’m confident his active faith will advance the school’s mission of seeking to bring all members of the school community into a deeper relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”
"Being the principal at Bishop Hendricken High School is a great responsibility, it is a great privilege, and it is an honor to lead this amazing community, said DeCiccio. It is a dream come true to be back at my alma mater guiding the next generation of Hawks. Live Jesus in our hearts forever."
DeCiccio is a 2003 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High school. He has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Springfield College (Springfield, MA), and is currently the principal of Samuel Slater Middle School in Pawtucket and was an assistant principal at Danvers High School in Danvers, Massachusetts. He was recently awarded the 2018 Rhode Island First Year Principal Award by the RI School Principals Association. DeCiccio and his wife, along with their young son, are active members of Immaculate Conception Parish in Cranston.
