(MIDDLETOWN, R.I.) Local Christian recording artist Ryan Tremblay is set to perform on stage in Panama for World Youth Day 2019. Hundreds of thousands of young people will be travelling from all over the world to attend World Youth Day 2019, which will take place from January 22-27 in Panama City, Panama.
“I am thrilled to be performing at the Figali Convention Center in Panama City, Panama at World Youth Day 2019,” said Tremblay. “It's a 10,275 seat venue that has hosted concerts by Metallica, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber to name a few. To share the gospel message through music at such a prestigious international event is a true gift. I'm grateful to Bishop Tobin and the Diocese of Providence for their support and look forward to representing Rhode Island and the United States proudly!”
The 30 year-old Tremblay, a Middletown resident who grew up in Coventry, plans on performing songs from his second album, which was released last fall. Tremblay’s second album entitled “Trust: An EP for Erica,” is dedicated to the musician’s late sister Erica Shea who died in 2015 of advanced stage breast cancer two months after giving birth to her daughter.
Pope Francis attended World Youth Day 2016 in Poland and is expected to join the faithful once again for World Youth Day 2019.
