Happy Labor Day Weekend to all! I hope that you have time with family and enjoy the beautiful weather.
It is good to rest from our labors. And it is good to appreciate the dignity of those who labor and the importance of their work for the common good. On this Labor Day, I will be praying for those who have suffered injury or death in the workplace. As I drive past road construction, I often offer a prayer for the workers on those projects. It’s a risky thing to work mere feet from speeding cars, and I wonder if we should be thinking more of their safety than our hurry?
Let’s take the opportunity this weekend to thank all those folks who work so hard to provide the essential services and goods that benefit all of us. God bless workers and all those who advocate for the safety of workers and for just wages and working conditions.
