Bishop Tobin has accepted the resignation of the Reverend Scott J. Pontes as Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish, East Providence, effective August 16, 2017. At the request of Father Pontes, he has also been granted a temporary leave of absence from the active ministry for reasons of health, effective August 16, 2017.
