May 1st is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker

A reflection and prayer for all workers, all laborers:

“The Church venerates Joseph of Nazareth as a worker, an artisan, perhaps a carpenter by calling. He was the one and only workingman, among all those who have been on earth, whose workbench Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man, labored every day . . . May the serenity of the modest workshop of Nazareth ever reign in your work places. The Lord is always with you at your workbenches. Never ignore Him. Never put Him aside.” (St. John Paul II)

Through the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker, may God bless all those who labor, especially those who serve in difficult and dangerous conditions, and also those who are unemployed and underemployed. May God bless you and your families with good gifts, now and always. Amen.
