Diocese responds in faith to all those who have suffered from recent disasters

(PROVIDENCE, RI)  In light of the recent tragic events in the United States and elsewhere, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence will hold a special Mass on Sunday, October 15 at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Providence.  Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will celebrate the Mass for all those who are suffering from the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the earthquake in Mexico and the Las Vegas shooting spree. 

In announcing the special Mass, Bishop Tobin said, “In times of trouble, in times of sadness and suffering, we naturally turn to God for comfort, consolation and hope. I invite the members of our Catholic community to join us for this special Mass at the Cathedral, or if unable to attend, to pray in their local parishes, schools, and at home, for the same intention.  It is fitting way for us to be spiritually united to all those who are suffering.”
