To My Brothers and Sisters in the Diocese of Providence:
Alleluia! It’s the word that will resound too many times to count in our churches and across the globe on Easter Day.
Alleluia! A single word filled with so much meaning, so much joy!
Alleluia means “praise the Lord,” and yes, indeed, we have many reasons to “praise the Lord” on Easter Day.
We praise the Lord because Jesus has been raised from the dead, and the ancient promises have been fulfilled.
We praise the Lord because Jesus has given us reason to hope, reason to live, in the midst of the trials and tribulations of our time.
We praise the Lord because Jesus has destroyed death and has opened wide the door to eternal life to all who believe.
Dear friends, I extend my fervent prayers and Easter blessings to you and your loved ones. May you know the peace and joy of the Risen Christ, and may this Easter Season be for all of us a time filled with many
“Alleluias!”
