Your Diocese

The Diocese of Providence is a geographic delineation for a community of more than 619,964 Roman Catholics who worship in the 147 parishes and shrines. There are 401 priests (278 diocesan priests and 123 religious priests), 104 deacons, 477 religious sisters and 83 brothers serving in the Diocese. More than 16,259 children attend the Diocese's 46 elementary and high schools. The Diocese itself is comprised of more than 221 individual corporations representing our parishes, offices and agencies.

In 2009, Diocesan outreach programs served more than 447,367 individuals in Rhode Island in its various hospitals and ministries, providing services, assistance and advocacy to those who need it most.
